I had so much fun with this family at Volunteer Park few weeks ago. I just adore how sweet big brother, Jaysen, is with his 5-month-old baby brother. It melted my heart! I am also so glad we snuck in a few Seahawks inspired shots at the end, especially now that they're headed to the Super Bowl! Go Hawks!

Hunter is 4!

I cannot believe this big guy is already 4 - and boy, has he really come out of his shell! In the past Hunter was fairly reserved and a little on the shy side, but during "his" session he was ALL smiles. I loved it! Of course with the holidays just around the corner, we made sure to get some family and sibling shots as well. :-)

The C Family... and Macklemore

I am so far beyond excited to share this session with you!! Not only did I get to capture the sweetest family on this perfect Saturday morning, but we had a run in with one of the coolest, hippest Seattleites there ever was, Macklemore himself! Needless to say, this family session was definitely one for the books! 

Here's the story: So I was getting this adorable family set up for a few shots when I noticed a couple coming up on the trail from behind. Usually I have my subjects hold tight until park-goers pass, but these folks seemed to be in tune with what we were doing and were kind enough to move out of the shot nearly right way. This was awesome, but extremely rare since the majority of people are completely obvious to my camera. That should have been the first clue! Then, as the couple approached off to my left, I glanced over and noticed that the very attractive gal looked strangely familiar. Then, instantaneously it clicked that I had seen her on some renovation special (HGTV perhaps) where she renovated her mother's house along side her fiancee... *light bulb* holy schnikies, it's Macklemore! Okay, I'll admit that I'm probably the only person in the history of history to instantly recognize her... and then him, because of her. What can I say, I'm a home improvement show addict! Anyways, so I lean in toward the family, who I am still adjusting at this point, and whisper, "Do you know who Macklemore is?" client: "Um, yeah?" me: "Well, he and his fiancee are walking by right over there (deliberately glance to my left)" client: "No way! How cool would it be if he were in our family portrait?" me: "DONE!" So with a burst of adrenaline I rush over to introduce myself and ask if it would be possible to get a picture of him with the family. He was completely cool with it, and introduced himself by name as we walked over to the family. At that point, I quickly snapped a few shots and thanked him for his time so that they could be on their way. After he walked off, my clients and I joked about calling it a day (only 15 minutes in, but seriously, how could it get any better?) and how they already win for the best Christmas card! The remainder of the session we rocked the biggest perma-smiles and were completely in awe of what had just happened. What an incredible morning!
